This branch of medicine deals with the study of drugs in elaborate manner which includes their composition, properties, interactions, toxicology, therapy, medical applications and recent advances in research & development. 

• The UG curriculum theory classes, experimental pharmacology as well as basis of research activities in the field.
• It also encourages Students to take up various research projects toexplore the subject in great depth.
• The Department has its own Pharmacovigilance Centre through which reports are collected to provide evidence to the National Centre as and when needed.
• Innovative teaching learning methodologies are implemented by the department to make learning a memorable experience for the students.
